Abstract/Summary:


This paper presents a simple resonant filter for a PV inverter. We have considered a five level inverter to reduce THD of the output voltage. We have used an inverter control allowing the elimination of third and fifth harmonics. We have already shown, in a precedent study, that low pass filter is better than the tuned passive filter accorded to the seven harmonic. In this paper, we will compare performance of the low pass filter and the resonant series converter. Indeed, a resonant converter ensures a soft communication for electronic switch when it is adequately controlled. For comparing different cases, we have simulated the operation with PSIM and discussed the corresponding Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
