Abstract/Summary:


Polycrystalline Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin films were electrodeposited on Mo and F:SnO2/Glass substrates at room temperature by single step method followed by annealing. The effect of initial molar concentration of Cu-, Zn- and Sn- as metal complexes as well as that of annealing was investigated in this study. The under potential deposition of CZTS from the mixed complexes has shown to have a great influence of initial concentration on the phase purity of as-prepared films. The kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4 phase with preferred orientation along the (112) crystal direction and direct band gap of 1.55eV grew to larger extent upon annealing of the Sn-riched as-deposited film at 500 °C under Ar-atmosphere.
