Abstract/Summary:


In this paper, a comparison between four simulation methods for a photovoltaic module performance under real conditions was made. The tools used were the theoretical four-parameter circuit model, two simulation methods of the PSIM® commercial software, and a non-commercial software named SimModFV which was developed by an investigation group of the Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas. Field measurements were performed to compare the accuracy of the selected simulation methods. Results shows that SimModFV has good performance, especially when the power of the module increases.
