Abstract/Summary:


This paper deals with the development of a linear-type 200kW PV array simulator with two 100kW PV array simulators in parallel operation, which can produce 200kW of the maximum output power even at 5 different voltage ranges with the maximum output voltage of 950V. The linear power amplifier technology has been used to ensure the stability and fast response time of the 200kW PV array simulator with high dynamic performance which simulates the I-V characteristic curves as closely as to practical and realistic weather conditions with high testing accuracy for an independent third-party testing and certification of grid-connected PV inverters. And also the modular design makes us possible to increase its maximum power using 100kW of a unit module through the parallel operation. Especially it has been developed fully to comply with the requirements of EN 50530 which has been recently published in April 2010. And also, the new Korean test standard for testing & certification program of the medium and large-sized photovoltaic inverter ranged from 10kW to 250kW would be introduced. And the typical test results would be presented.
