In this work, image processing method is demonstrated by analyzing the degradation of dye of solar cells containing hydrophobic dye Z907 under severe thermal 12 hour long shock test at 110˚C under ultraviolet and visible light which is applied to accelerate the degradation processes. The results show that the important degradation processes such as dye desorption and bleaching of electrolyte can be studied with this new method. The method is also applied to investigate the effect of dye sensitization time on the performance of the cells. The results show that dye loading time has significant effect on the performance of the cells as to be expected but more importantly it is shown how the dye loading procedure can be analyzed.
