Abstract/Summary:


In Spain, industry is identified as one of the most important sectors regarding energy consumption, especially for medium and large factories. In this regard, a tool was developed for analyzing energy behavior of an industrial monitored process from multiple points of view, being solar photovoltaic analysis one of the most important ones. This module makes use of information introduced by the user, such as electricity bills or location of the factory, along with process energy consumption data, which is fed to the system by continuous metering. As a result, a simplified sizing calculation is carried out allowing developing an adapted energy and economic balance analysis focused on the performance of the proposed PV installation and its potential impact on the monitored process. In consequence, the tool is conceived as an advisory system allowing the user to decide whether or not carrying out a detailed study in the short or medium term.
