Abstract/Summary:


Conventionally, the current-voltage (I-V) curve tracers and Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPTs) are independent systems. On the other hand, some MPPTs have a “scanning function” to perform an I-V scan by means of a separate circuitry placed in the MPPT enclosure. In this paper, an MPPT and an I-V curve tracer is designed using the same electronic hardware controlled by a microcontroller. The proposals are verified with simulation results, and experimental verification is ongoing. Since the designed system is a power optimizer, “Inverters and Balance of System Components” subtopic is chosen for the abstract submission.
