Southern Mediterranean is an area of high solar radiation and high temperature, high temperature will lower module efficiency and in turn this will lower the output power which is the most needed outcome of a PV module. Southern countries of the Mediterranean looking forward to utilize solar energy as future energy source. Different technology has different temperature coefficients and so different power degradation. The effects of degradation of Photovoltaic solar modules and arrays and their subsequent loss of energy performance can have a serious impact on their total energy generation potential. The long-term field evaluation of PV modules is of great importance to the photovoltaic industry. The main objective of this paper is to compare the power degradation of three different PV modules technology which are working in a harsh environment. A mathematical models to determine the modules temperature as function of ambient temperatures , and a model for power degradation were developed which will allow predicting the module parameters.
