Abstract/Summary:


Applied Materials is leading the commercialization of a new generation of large low-cost thin film silicon photovoltaics (PV), through the successful offering and the sale of multiple solar factories. Applied Materials is a leader in the Gen 8.5 generation of FPD equipment; this leadership has allowed Applied Materials to introduce Gen 8.5 PV processing equipment in which 2.2 x 2.6 meter glass superstrates are processed. We will discuss the methodology of module modeling, mini-module testing, process transfer and the production of efficient large area thin film solar modules.
