Nowadays, in the large-scale photovoltaic (PV) plants, the main challenge on this paper if to ensure the optimal electrical energy productivity. So this is necessary to monitoring and diagnostics the PV plants thank to fault detection and localization from drone with an integrated infrared thermography (IRT). The interest of the IRT is a not destructive detection and localization of PV faults and this is an independent diagnostic system from PV plant. The Institut National de l’Energie Solaire (INES) had already work on the IRT [1] for the fault diagnostics, today we want to expend the activity by improvising the accuracy of fault detection and the estimate of relative power loss caused by shaded or hot spot. We will also test the new IEC 62446-3 norm and add new suggests to improve the procedure of IRT detection. From [1] paper, we have for an objective to increase our knowledge of faults signatures form IR, I/V curves, Electroluminescence (EL) detection and checking the occurring defectives PV types.
