Abstract/Summary:


For the study of complex technological processes the mathematical modeling, allowing to reduce time and expenses for research, is used. In this paper, the approaches to the mathematical modeling of electromagnetic stirring of liquid conducting medium – silicon melt, used for silicon solar cell production are investigated. The paper describes a computational method providing significant speeding up execution time of numerical calculations, based on the averaging the Lorentz force over the period of a variable magnetic field. The results of the accuracy influence of the current shape approximation in the inductors of the electromagnetic stirring system on the accuracy of the calculations for a traveling magnetic field are presented.
