Abstract/Summary:


In last years, the solar energy research field has experienced a rapid increase in a wide range of applications. In this sense, High Concentration Photovoltaic (HCPV) systems appears as one of the most promising technologies. However, this kind of systems are highly sensitive to errors in solar tracking control or mechanical clearances in the structural movement of the tracker. Thus, an accurate solar tracking system is necessary aiming to maintain the amount of produced energy in favorable conditions. This paper presents the implementation and evaluation of two control strategies for a dual axes sun tracking system in a small size HCPV system connected to a dummy load.
