Abstract/Summary:


Analytical expressions for quantum well solar cells (QWSC) maximum obtainable photoconversion efficiency at AM0 conditions are obtained. QWSC photoconversion efficiency modeling at no concentration for AM1.5 conditions is fulfilled using SimWindows program. It is shown that A3B5 p-i-n QWSC photoconversion efficiency is quite low because of low photovoltage. The base region should be strong enough doped to increase this efficiency. Light concentration enables considerable increase of A3B5 p-i-n QWSC photoconversion efficiency making it comparable to high base region doped SC photoconversion efficiency.
