Abstract/Summary:


The potential of solar power across the country is more than 740 GW. Performance of module technology also depends on the different parameters such as irradiance, temperature, wind speed, humidity and rain fall. The photovoltaic simulation tools are useful for energy estimation of solar systems. This paper presents the performance assessment of small capacity grid connected solar photovoltaic system (GCSPVS) using PV* SOL software [1, 2]. Simulation software are used to estimate the performance of GCSPVS by calculating the performance ratio using PV* SOL software. This paper present’s PR estimation of three thin film modules CdTe, CIGS and a-Si-H modules for different climatic zones. The performance modelling data is compared with the measured data to compare the estimation error.
