As solar cells are developed to achieve continuously increasing efficiencies, more complex production processes with increased process stabilities need to be accompanied by more advanced inspection techniques. We present a significantly accelerated approach that is suitable to include a spatially resolved rapid reflectivity measurement into inline quality control. Using LED-solar simulators with their very low switching times between different LED channels, we can achieve measurement times of 300msec or even less for a reliable data acquisition regarding the optical cell properties. While the spectral resolution is limited by the number of LED types and with the measurement accuracy being somewhat lower than compared to conventional optical inspection tools, we show that even minor deviations in local reflectivity can be nevertheless identified.
