This study focuses on indoor shade and BIPV. Normally BIPV module be able to install to curtain wall as same as glass easily while newly building construction. So, BIPV modules are handled in the same way as building products, but there are concerning technical issues for durability and reliability due to differences in requirements between architectural engineering and electrical engineering field. and then, it is difficult and time-consuming remove broken BIPV module from high rise building façade (Fig.1). For this reason, there are PV products where the window film with PV module can be retrofitted to existing glass from inside as well. This PV module is directly stick to the inside of annealed float glass (Fig.2). that is, film type PV can be provided to omit the requirements of facade. However, it is not easily this methodology because there is a problem of breakage due to a difference in thermal stress into the annealed glass (Fig.3). thus, film type PV can’t be entirely found out on the building so far. Therefore, in this study, I’m working on the research and development of solar shade with PV that satisfies in design, solar heat shielding, dimming, view, power generation capacity, install, maintenance and freedom of facade design. In this paper, the solar shade made of thin crystal silicon was developed, the electrical characteristics and solar heat gain coefficient including each glass constitution were measured and attached it on the actual building facade were carried out measurement. We would like to report as a part of experimental result.
