Abstract/Summary:

In this paper, the corrosion reactions on the rear side of bifacial silicon PERC solar cells under different polarity system bias were investigated. It was found that there are various degrees of corrosion at the Al/Ag finger due to the difference in the metal electrode potential and polarity system voltage. A novel finding is that the phenomenon of broken grid was observed when the back of PERC silicon solar cells was under positive voltage bias. Then, SEM and EDS were performed to analyze the microstructure of the back of the bifacial PERC solar cells after corrosion. The corrosion reactions will cause serious performance degradation and have adverse effects on the reliability of bifacial PERC solar cells.
