Abstract/Summary:


This paper describes the activities regarding a study of a virtual solar power plant in order to establish its technical, economical and social feasibility. A virtual solar power plant is a virtual network of all solar installations connected to the grid in a particular region or country. All relevant operational data of the participating PV-installations is being dynamically collected and made available online. The virtual solar power plant will improve the quality of solar systems, support the introduction of market value for solar electricity and stimulate development and application of new equipment and services related to monitoring and maintenance of solar systems and trading of solar electricity.
