Shared solar cooperatives are a very new distributed generation (DG) in Brazil, since it was only regulated in late 2015 and coming into force in 2016. Therefore, there is not much literature about it and the poor knowledge and understanding about this DG model are one of the main barriers for its development. On the other hand, there is a lot of interest to better understand shared solar cooperatives in order to turn it into a reality in the country. This paper presents a web tool for early stages of techno-economic analysis of shared solar cooperatives in order to overcome these barriers, promoting and popularizing this truly democratic energy generation model. The web tool was developed as a complementary tool to the Solar Cooperatives Guide and it was designed to be accessible to any kind of user, from individuals who might have some knowledge and understanding about solar systems and shared solar cooperatives to individuals who know little or even nothing about the subject. The web tool and the PDF of the Solar Cooperative Guide are currently available at America do Sol platform from Instituto IDEAL, which can be accessed through the link: www.americadosol.org/simulador-cooperativas/.
