Abstract/Summary:


The efficiency of photovoltaic cell is decrease due to its temperature rising. To reduce this loss, the heat generated is extracted for utility. The medium can be air or water. Higher outlet fluid temperature causes more module efficiency but less PV efficiency. Thus, the application for this useless heat should be low-medium temperature. In Thailand, the amorphous silicon photovoltaic modules are used to generated electricity and hot water for many applications. Its efficiency can reach up to 40% more than the normal one. To adapt the structure of normal PV module with heat extracting unit, it causes more initial cost but less payback period or better economics than the PV module only.
