Abstract/Summary:


This paper presents works where broken solar cell structures early in the PV production process chain as well as broken finished solar cells have been recycled into new Si feedstock through demetallization step, purification and directional solidification. The paper discuss two different routes for removal of diffusion layers and anti-reflection coating (ARC). It also presents characterizations of ingots produced with the Si-feedstock from the two routes by directional solidification.
