The present study investigates the initial parameters which should be assessed for the installation of photovoltaic panels in the area of the landfill of Cirsures, located in the municipality of Urussanga, Santa Catarina. The study conception was directly linked to analysis of the slopes of the landfill, its solid and electrical stability, sun incidence and shading. The proposed methodology for the study was obtained through photographic images taken on the spot and calculations based on characteristic data on the area. Thus, it was concluded that the slopes already consolidated sanitary landfill Cirsures, located in the municipality of Urussanga, Santa Catarina, meet the parameters analyzed for the future deployment of photovoltaic panels on them. The slopes are devoid of objects that can influence the assembly and efficiency of photovoltaic panels, in addition to presenting stability above the minimum required for your safety factor. The area has a great demand of sun incidence because of the staggered structure of the landfill, since the emission of solar radiation shows high rates between the months of November to February, leading to maximum efficiency of power generation.
