Abstract/Summary:


Following the demonstration of silicon heterojunction IBC using the tunnel based contact by the CSEM team, Meyer Burger spent efforts in transferring this technology in mass production scalable form. This contribution presents a 23.8% cell based on this tunnel junction technology over large area (100 cm2). This result is the first one of its kind in the demonstration of an IBC solar cell with a single masking step on an industrial CZ wafer using an industrial compatible shadow masking technology for the PECVD deposition of microcrystalline silicon.
