Abstract/Summary:

We report on 3 years residential Hawaii case study results for rooftop solar-PV + multiple storage. Carbon emissions/footprint was reduced by 92% reducing grid-buy from the utility from 14.5MWh/year to 1.2MWh/year for 2018, a cost savings of $4,383.50/year and payback of 3.1 years. Using IoT and smart devices for; 1) home automation, 2) energy ecosystem monitor and control, 3) future weather forecasting and 4) lifestyle behavioral changes we achieved Island Nano-Grid with 100% renewable clean energy and resilience 24/7 for 336 days out of the year. Grid-buy was required for only 29 days due to rain/cloudy days.
