Abstract/Summary:


The damaged issues of solar photovoltaic (PV) system due to severe storm like typhoons or hurricanes are very frequent and unpredictable. Currently, IEC standards are limited in uniform mechanical load tests for low wind speed cases such as static type (IEC 61215-2:2016, MQT16) or dynamic type (IEC TS 62782:2016). But these documents lacks of suitable methods to simulate the true scenario like the uneven wind loads or high wind speed applied on PV module even its fixed fixtures. Therefore, this research focus on how to develop one new non-uniform wind loads test that also fully consider the effects of different environmental factors (e.g., wind speed (V), wind direction angle () and module tilt ()). In order to fulfil the above requirements and evaluate the wind resistance of PV module, results are being applied to one draft about wind-loads test, and discussed by IEC TC82 since 2019.
