Abstract/Summary:

The record efficiency of Organic Solar Cells (OSCs) has recently skyrocketed above 17% (certified) thanks to the development of non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs), mainly due to the possibility of altering their properties through molecular design, as a way to improve the device performance.1,2 There is still a scalability lag that needs to be overcome without compromising the final efficiency.3 The aim of this work is to provide an approach for a potential universal procedure to enhance the PV performance of nonfullerene OSCs in a roll-to-roll manufacturing setting, studying each layer at a time, in order to overcome this lag and thus increase the competitiveness of OSCs versus other PV technologies.
